Iván Ania highlighted the progress shown by Córdoba CF after losing in the penalty shootout against Sevilla FC in the IV Puertas de Córdoba Trophy. The blanquiverde coach reminded that it was only the second preseason match and explained that the main objective was to continue distributing minutes and building competitive rhythm. In the first half, Córdoba dominated and controlled their opponent, although they lacked greater presence in the box and more shots on goal.
After the break, the Sevilla team fielded a lineup close to what could start the season in the First Division, significantly increasing the level of competition in the match. Despite this, Ania appreciated his players' ability to compete, defend as a unit, and have phases of ball control, although he acknowledged that there is still work to be done in the finishing area and in some aspects of the game model.
