Córdoba CF relives its history in LALIGA's Retro Matchday.

In the match against Real Zaragoza, corresponding to matchday 35 of LALIGA HYPERMOTION, we will wear a kit inspired by one of the golden chapters in the history of the green and white team.

The Córdoba Club de Fútbol will join the historic Retro Matchday promoted by LALIGA with a jersey that pays tribute to one of the most memorable eras in its history. In the match against Real Zaragoza, which will take place at the Bahrain Victorious Nuevo Arcángel, the green-and-white team will wear a classic kit that evokes an unforgettable chapter of its history.

LALIGA will celebrate the first Retro Matchday in its history from April 10 to 13, 2026, an unprecedented initiative in European professional football where 38 clubs from LALIGA EA SPORTS and LALIGA HYPERMOTION will take to the field with new kits inspired by iconic editions of their past, accompanied by referees who will wear a special design through the Technical Committee of Referees (CTA) of the RFEF.

The LALIGA Retro Matchday is born as a tangible expression of “a very living legacy”, turning the history of the clubs into an experience that excites, celebrates, and is also worn on the field. The historical jerseys, reinterpreted for the current competition, act as a bridge between generations, connecting the origins of the fans with the way football is experienced today. An initiative that unites football and fashion on the field itself, positioning LALIGA as the only one of the five major European leagues to promote a joint action of this kind.

During matchday 31 of LALIGA EA SPORTS and matchday 35 of LALIGA HYPERMOTION, 38 LALIGA clubs will join this initiative, wearing new retro kits inspired by historical models from their past.

The collection that will never go out of style

The LALIGA Retro Matchday shapes “the collection that will never go out of style”, a proposal that turns the history of the clubs into a contemporary trend. The participating kits will be presented next Thursday, March 19 at the MBFWMadrid, bringing the legacy of Spanish football to one of the main international showcases of the creative industry. A natural union between football and fashion that transcends the field and places the identity of the clubs at the center of the cultural conversation.

Jaime Blanco, director of the LALIGA Club Office, highlighted that “the Retro Matchday is a unique opportunity to pay tribute to the history of our clubs and the symbols that have marked several generations of fans. It is a way to bring the past to the present and to continue building experiences and forging the legacy that emotionally connects with the fans. That this collection is presented at La Gran Semana de la Moda Española is the perfect showcase to project that identity beyond the field and place football at the center of the cultural and creative conversation.”

A 360º experience beyond the field

The LALIGA Retro Matchday will extend beyond the kits and the matches themselves, becoming a transversal initiative involving clubs, talents, legends, sponsors, and various actors in the LALIGA ecosystem. Among them, the collection LEGENDS, The Home of Football, a unique space that already showcases the history of world football and will be the main protagonist of this project in the coming months.

The audiovisual experience will incorporate graphics adapted to the retro style, with a specific visual identity that will bring this narrative to the television and digital environment, while various physical and digital activations will amplify the reach of the matchday, before and after it. Additionally, in the coming weeks, the designs of the kits to be worn by the participating clubs will be revealed. A global staging that reinforces the coherence of the action and turns the Retro Matchday into a shared celebration of football's past and present.

This initiative is part of the campaign '42 legacies, 42 ways to win,' which highlights how the passion for a club is passed
