The Córdoba Club de Fútbol has received special recognition from the ‘Hermano Bonifacio’ Social Work of the San Juan de Dios Hospital for its social and charitable commitment, during the 8th Solidarity Dinner held at the Real Círculo de la Amistad. The event brought together nearly 750 people with the aim of supporting vulnerable families in Córdoba and raising awareness of the various social programs developed by the Hospitaller Order.
During his speech, the CEO of Córdoba CF, Antonio Fernández Monterrubio, expressed his gratitude for the distinction and highlighted the daily work carried out by San Juan de Dios: “We receive this recognition with great affection, but also with great humility, because if anyone deserves to be recognized tonight, it is you. It is you who, throughout the year, stand by the families who need it the most.”
This recognition represents a boost to the work that Córdoba CF has been developing in the area of Corporate Social Responsibility, a key aspect of the club's growth. In this regard, Fernández Monterrubio emphasized that “the sporting growth of Córdoba CF cannot be understood without also achieving social growth. We want to win matches, compete, and take Córdoba as high as possible, but we also want to be a club that is useful to its people.”
In recent years, the club has promoted and supported numerous charitable, social, and inclusive initiatives: hospital visits, activities with children and vulnerable groups, integration programs, initiatives with the Genuine team, pet adoption campaigns, charity jerseys, benefit matches, and collaborations with social organizations in the city. “Defending the jersey is not just about doing so for ninety minutes on the field. It is also about being close to those in need, opening the club's doors, listening to society, and remembering that Córdoba CF belongs sentimentally to all of Córdoba,” emphasized the blanquiverde CEO.
Córdoba CF has maintained a close relationship for years with San Juan de Dios and the ‘Hermano Bonifacio’ Social Work, whose efforts help meet basic needs such as food, clothing, and support for individuals and families in vulnerable situations. For the club, this recognition also belongs to all the people, institutions, associations, fan clubs, players, coaches, employees, and Córdoba supporters who participate in and make possible every social action linked to the organization.
Fernández Monterrubio concluded his speech by reiterating the club's commitment to serving the city: “Córdoba Club de Fútbol is Córdoba's club. And, therefore, it is everyone's club. We are fully at the service of every noble cause, such as the ‘Hermano Bonifacio’ Social Work. For us, it will always be an honor to put our crest at the service of Córdoba.”
Córdoba Club de Fútbol thanks San Juan de Dios for this distinction and reiterates its commitment to continue collaborating with the ‘Hermano Bonifacio’ Social Work and with all those causes that help build a more supportive, inclusive, and committed Córdoba.
