The Córdoba CF has carried out new improvements in the Bahrain Victorius Nuevo Arcángel in recent months as part of the renovation and modernization plan initiated in recent years, in preparation for the new 2026/2027 football season, which will kick off this Friday at home against Girona FC.
This time, the efforts have been largely focused on increasing the capacity of the sports venue, enhancing the experiences for fans, and continuing to improve the stadium's accessibility and safety. Additionally, other essential facilities and services for the team's operations and media work during each match have been refurbished.
Capacity and Experiences
Regarding the increase in capacity at the Bahrain Victorius Nuevo Arcángel, 300 new seats have been added between the Upper South Stand and the Lower Preference Stand, where new 'premium' seats with an excellent view of the pitch have been installed. This intervention is complemented by the expansion of the Animation Stand by approximately 120 additional seats, achieved by optimizing the space in the sector and reorganizing it. In fact, these seats are still available exclusively as season tickets at affordable prices in our offices. In total, the official capacity of the stadium is now 21,898 spectators.
In terms of experiences, an area the organization has also been working on in recent seasons, three new boxes have been activated along the central line of the North Stand. Additionally, a new open-plan 'box' has been set up in the players' tunnel, offering a unique space to enjoy live action from a highly attractive area during each match and to witness the pre-game, halftime, and post-game moments firsthand in this strategic location.
Accessibility and Safety
On the other hand, the club continues to make progress in inclusion and accessibility, with a series of actions aimed at improving the experience for fans with reduced mobility. Bathrooms and access to beverage stands in the Tribune area have been adapted. It is also worth highlighting the installation of handrails in all sectors and stands to facilitate safe movement for elderly individuals, as well as support guides fixed on the entry and exit stairs. The shared goal in both cases is to enhance the comfort of our season ticket holders, fans, and attendees.
In this regard, it is also worth noting the installation of new security cameras throughout the venue by La Liga, covering entrances, common areas, the outer perimeter, and the stands, creating a 360-degree monitoring model for better supervision of sporting events.
Additionally, new bathrooms have been installed in the upper area of the South Stand, and new smoking areas have been implemented and marked at the entrances to the various stands, reflecting the club's commitment to maintaining a smoke-free environment. These areas were inaugurated during the recent Puertas de Córdoba Trophy match against Sevilla FC.
Locker Room and Press Booths
The first team's locker room has also undergone significant improvements, including upgraded lighting and the installation of new seats for greater comfort in this area.
In recent months, the technological infrastructure of the press booths has been enhanced, with systems and resources upgraded to better support the work of the media. This provides a more stable, reliable, and prepared environment for current needs, improving access to technological services and reducing the risk of issues during matches.
The new setup offers greater capacity and flexibility for accredited professionals, facilitating the simultaneous use of various services and preparing the infrastructure for future technological needs.
Additionally, the exterior and interior painting of the stadium has been completed, and a security fence has been installed to separate the visiting fans' section.
Previous Actions
With all these improvements, Córdoba CF takes another step forward in its process of professionalization and adaptation to modern times, moving decisively toward consolidating the Bahrain Victorious Nuevo Arcángel as a modern, efficient, inclusive, and fan-friendly facility, ready to meet future challenges and enhance the overall spectacle.
Antonio Fernández Monterrubio, CEO of the blanquiverde organization, emphasized that "at Córdoba CF, we continue working to improve El Reino." "In recent months, we have undertaken new actions at the Bahrain Victorius Nuevo Arcángel aimed at improving capacity, accessibility, safety, comfort, basic infrastructure, and experiences to enjoy the best spectacle at every match."
"More capacity, new boxes and premium areas, accessibility for people with reduced mobility, safety, improvements in press booths... We continue working to transform the stadium into a more modern, efficient, and safe facility, prioritizing the attention to our season ticket holders, fans, and visitors, and enhancing the enjoyment of every match."
It is worth remembering that last season saw significant actions such as the installation of two new video scoreboards, a sign with the stadium's official name on the North Stand facade accompanied by a large backlit club crest, new turf and irrigation systems, an LED lighting system with a synchronized light show, the complete renovation of the benches, seven premium boxes in the Lower Preference Stand, LED rings in the Preference Stand, new scoreboards in the Tribune and Preference areas, a dining room for the team as part of the new nutritional plan, and the creation of spaces for people with reduced mobility, among other implemented measures.
