Iván Ania appeared before the media ahead of the first league match of Córdoba CF at the Bahrain Victorious Nuevo Arcángel, this Friday against Girona FC. The coach emphasized the importance of returning home and the fact that many of the new players will experience a league match alongside the Córdoba fans for the first time. “It will be their league debut as home players, their first impression of the stadium, which I understand will be almost full. They will hear the anthem, which gives you goosebumps, and they will see what a Second Division match at El Arcángel is like,” he stated.

The blanquiverde coach particularly stressed the need to regain strength at home and once again make El Reino one of the team's great supports throughout the season. “We need to recover that feeling we had in the first season in the Second Division, where no matter what happened during the match, we felt almost invincible,” Ania explained, adding that he wants opponents to find “a very difficult stadium” both because of the Córdoba CF team they face and “because of how the fans push.”

Regarding Girona FC, Ania warned about the challenge of facing “one of the best squads in the category” and called for maximum focus and defensive solidarity.
